Parks, not a single template

The Mara is open grassland and predator country. The wildebeest migration is seasonal, and a date in July, August, or September is not a promise that the herds will be in one part of the reserve.

Amboseli is elephant country, with Mount Kilimanjaro behind the plain when the air is clear. Samburu is drier northern Kenya. Tsavo East and Tsavo West are large, and the soil stains elephants red. Lake Nakuru is the rhino and lake stop on the classic road circuit. Nairobi National Park is the short drive inside the city.

How many days do I need?

Three days can cover the Maasai Mara from Nairobi. Five days can add Amboseli and Lake Nakuru. Seven days leaves more game-drive time in those parks.

Are flights between parks included?

The routes on this site are written as road safaris from Nairobi. A flight sector is added only when you ask for it and the quotation prices it.
